Quark Vanilla Resource Overrides

Quark Vanilla Resource Overrides, also known as Quark VRO or QVRO, is an adapted version of a cancelled feature from the Quark mod, implemented as a resource pack. This pack can be used both with Quark on Forge and in pure vanilla Minecraft without any mods.

Development History

Originally, this feature was part of the main Quark mod, but the developers later abandoned its implementation. Now it's available as a separate resource pack that preserves the original concept and design.

Additional Packs

By default, Quark VRO doesn't alter the standard chests. However, for players who want regular chests to look like Oak Chests from the Quark mod, there's an additional pack called Quark VRO - Oaken Chests. This addon should be loaded together with the main Quark VRO pack, placed higher in the resource pack loading order.

For minimalism enthusiasts, there's a separate QVRO - Subtler Shields pack that implements only the shield positioning feature. This provides better visibility of surroundings while blocking, as shields appear much lower in first-person mode. Unlike the chest addon, all elements of Subtler Shields are already included in the main Quark VRO pack.

Texture authorship belongs to the Quark development team: ViviSpook created most of the textures in this pack, Endergy was responsible for chest textures, MushirMickeyJoe recreated the Bedrock Edition piston model, and Farcr created the furnace bottom textures. The creator of this resource pack received official permission from Vazkii, the author of Quark mod.
