Lazy Striders

In previous versions of Minecraft, baby striders riding adults stayed warm as long as the parent was in lava. However, this changed in update 1.19.4 — now striders carrying other striders are always cold. Apparently, this was an intentional change by the developers (see reports MC-189383 and MC-260630). Isn't that sad?

Introducing: Lazy Striders!

It pains me to see baby striders turning sickly purple, so I created this small resource pack. Now all cold striders get a slightly less intense red hue and close their eyes, giving them a relaxed, lazy look. Now babies riding on their parents' backs look cute and sleepy, not like they're on the verge of death!

Additionally, an alternative version Lazy Striders - Illuminated is available, which also retextures warm striders, making them appear as if illuminated by the lava beneath them. This idea was inspired by the unique textures of lit candles.
