HD Font - Liberation Mono

This resource pack replaces Minecraft's default font with the higher-quality Liberation Mono font across all game menus. It supports all languages compatible with the standard font (excluding many Asian languages).

You can easily use this pack alongside any other resource packs - simply place it at the top of your active resource packs list.

About Liberation Mono Font

Liberation™ Fonts is a font family designed for metric compatibility with popular fonts like Arial, Times New Roman, and Courier New. Development is sponsored by Red Hat.

Important note: I do not own this font and have not modified its appearance. The font is redistributed according to the owner's license.

Development History

When version 1.13-pre6 introduced true font support, I immediately wanted to experiment with high-quality fonts in Minecraft. Unfortunately, most tested fonts appeared poorly in that snapshot, likely due to Minecraft's custom kerning.

After extensive searching, I found a suitable font in the /usr/share/fonts/ directory (standard folder for Linux-based distributions) and decided to share it with the community. After reviewing the license terms, I prepared the resource pack, and here's the result!

In version 1.13-pre7, the support seemed broken, so I archived the project. However, I soon discovered the functionality still worked and had even improved! Special thanks to violine1101 for the helpful tutorial.
