Emissive Library

🔺 Important Information

THIS RESOURCE PACK DOES NOTHING BY ITSELF - IT'S A LIBRARY FOR DEVELOPERS!

⚠️ Blocks with glow effect do not function when using Sodium, although all other elements are compatible. When launching with Sodium, a warning error may appear, but it's not critical and concerns only blocks.

🔆 Starting from Minecraft snapshot 1.21.2 24w33a, developers gained the ability to create glowing blocks directly through their models. Our library continues to support creating emissive objects through its own style, however we strongly recommend switching to built-in modeling methods since they demonstrate full compatibility with Sodium.

🎯 Capabilities and Functionality

Example of resource pack usage

This technology works through the application of core shaders that provide glow support for: blocks, items, entities, and many other game objects. The technology is compatible with all game versions starting from 1.18 and above.

The working principle involves assigning a special transparency value (alpha channel equal to 254) to those texture areas that should emit light. This is an intuitive and easy-to-implement approach.

🔥 Implementation Features

🎭 Particularly impressive is the technology's work with outer layers of character skins and various types of capes:

👨‍💻 For Resource Pack Developers

You can freely integrate this library into your projects or specify it as a required dependency. All content from this pack is available for use in your works - simply credit the original development.

🚀 Integration into Your Projects

The integration process is maximally simplified: 1️⃣ Open the textures you need to modify 2️⃣ Set the transparency value (alpha channel) to 254 for pixels that should glow 3️⃣ Save the changes

For working with textures, any popular graphics editors will work: Paint.NET, GIMP, Photoshop, or similar programs.

🎮 Demonstration Content

For a comprehensive introduction to the library's capabilities, we prepared a special demonstration pack that shows in detail all aspects of its application and various usage options.
