Classic Menu Panorama - Return to Minecraft Classic Menu

Dreaming of authentic, faithful recreation of the original main menu background view? This resource pack is perfect for you! We completely replace the current menu background with the original version from pre-1.13 versions, offering it as a full 360-degree cube projection in 4K format.

Pack Creation Process My primary goal was maximum accuracy and fidelity in recreating old panorama overview textures. This required reproducing the correct camera position, exact viewing angle, accurate cloud and sun placement, proper rendering distance, as well as many other significant elements.

After numerous attempts, I decided to use an outdated world editing tool version compatible with files having height limitations of 128 blocks. In this application, I prepared a terrain schema, then created a superflat world in version 1.12.2 with specially selected data. The template was precisely overlaid on the same coordinates. To capture a high-quality cube projection photo fixing the surrounding space in 360 degrees across all planes, a replay recording tool was employed. This know-how was extremely important because cloud formations in the game are dynamic; capturing them separately would risk incorrect alignment of panorama sections.

During compilation preparation, there were challenges with geographic orientation: directional data has changed since one of the early beta versions. A solution was developed - rotating the map decor elements relative to horizontal, ensuring proper solar movement throughout game cycles. This led to specialized processing for water surface visualization.

Cloud layer synchronization brought further complications compared to usual preparatory steps; original low placement in early playable cuts necessitated lifting blocks closer just in cover original mimic 20 altitude rows seen background - without available options modify generated defaulted atmosphere made other rest true origins current used multiple tweaks but enabled ultimately to match how present really aims most share earlier versions.
