Constant Zombie Threat
This mod creates a constant zombie apocalypse threat in your Minecraft world. Every game tick, the system makes 5 attempts to spawn zombies around players in all game dimensions, ensuring a continuous flow of enemies.
Development Plans
Currently, basic functionality is implemented, but the author plans to significantly expand the mod's capabilities by adding various subsystems to increase gameplay difficulty and diversity.
Long-term Development Plans:
- Basic zombie abilities: dealing increased damage using fire, freezing, and other effects
- Various abilities for zombies, similar to Eldritch Mobs functionality (but not identical)
- Improved artificial intelligence: jumping to attack, overcoming obstacles, grouping around the player
Immediate Goals:
- Different zombie types for various biomes: drowned for water, zombie piglins for lava, husks for sunny areas
- Natural immunity of some zombies to sunlight
- Using creative mode tools to give zombies additional advantages
- Progression system: improved and more numerous zombies as days pass and player achieves significant accomplishments
- Data storage system within the world file to preserve state between loads
Previous Development Experience
The author previously created a similar mod called Zombie Apocalypse, which remains available as source code. This experience helped understand which aspects require improvement in the new version.
Main Changes Compared to Previous Version
The new approach focuses on creating fewer zombies but with increased damage and abilities. The configuration system is simplified - at least initially, configuration files are not planned, allowing the developer to experiment with more complex mechanics.
Future Development
Plans include adding other mob types, such as skeletons, for greater threat diversity. Client-side content is not planned, the mod will remain server-side.
