Xaero's World Map

Important Warning: Do not use XaeroPlus with this mod! This is an unofficial addon not affiliated with the developer that causes critical errors and crashes. There is also information about possible connections to server griefing groups, which could put your builds at risk.
About the Mod
Xaero's World Map adds a fullscreen world map to Minecraft that automatically fills in as you explore. The mod works as a standalone addition but reaches its full potential when combined with Xaero's Minimap. The separation into two separate mods allows keeping the minimap as lightweight as possible.
Key feature: The mod is primarily client-side. Installation on the server side is only required for some additional features like world identification.
The mod is in active development! If you find any bugs, be sure to report them to the developer.
Important recommendation: For optimal performance, make sure your world is optimized for the current Minecraft version (Singleplayer → Edit → Optimize World). Repeat this procedure after each game update, as generating maps from unoptimized saves takes significantly longer.

Frequently Asked Questions
Restoring Nether Maps
To restore Nether map display in fullscreen mode after update 1.30:
- Exit the server and find the game folder
- Go to
xaero/world-map/Multiplayer_[server_address]/DIM-1/[map_folder] - Create a "caves" folder and inside it a "-2147483648" folder
- Move all
.zipfiles tocaves/-2147483648
Cave Mode Setup
To set up cave mode like in versions before 1.30:
- Set "Default Cave Mode Type" to OFF
- Enable "Legible Cave Maps"
- In the Nether, set "Cave Mode Type" to Full
Teleportation Issues
Teleportation uses the /tp @s x y z command by default. Appropriate permissions are required:
- In vanilla game, operator status is needed
- On servers with plugins, separate permissions may be required
- The command can be changed in map settings
Automatic Map Exploration
In singleplayer, the map loads directly from the world save. You can pregenerate the world using tools, then use "Reload Regions" in map settings.
Map Selection Setup
The mod supports several map selection modes:
- Manual - manual selection (default)
- World Spawn - automatic by spawn point
- Single - one map for everything
- Server - best option when mod is installed on server
Restoring "Reset" Map
Map data is usually not deleted. The problem is often related to server address changes or dimension ID changes. You can restore the map by:
- Renaming dimension folders
- Changing map selection mode
- Updating the mod to the latest version
Usage Restrictions on Server
To prohibit cave mode usage, install the mod on the server and configure appropriate parameters in the configuration file.
Compatibility with Vanilla Clients
For vanilla clients to connect to a server with the mod installed, disable status effect registration in the server configuration file.
