Waxed Workstations

Tired of Minecraft villagers constantly taking over your workstations or sleeping in your bed without permission? This common issue among players led to the creation of this mod. You can now secure various functional blocks, including lecterns, smokers, looms, and cauldrons, making them inaccessible to villagers.

The mod doesn't add new blocks and is fully compatible with modded structures. Feel free to include it in your modpacks!

Required dependencies: Fabric API and MidnightLib (for configuration)

Originally designed only to protect workstations from villagers, but during development additional functionality was discovered. Now you can customize various aspects to suit your needs.

Settings

  • Securing Workstations: Enabled by default. Allows securing villager workstations from vanilla and modded content. Secured workstations cannot be claimed by villagers.

  • Securing Beds: Enabled by default. Allows securing beds of any complexity. Villagers cannot claim secured beds or sleep in them.

  • Securing Bells: Enabled by default. Adds the ability to secure bells. Villagers no longer recognize such bells as gathering points.

  • Securing Lodestones: Disabled by default. Allows securing lodestones. Compasses bound to secured lodestones no longer detect them.

  • Securing Beehives and Nests: Disabled by default. Allows securing beehives and bee nests. Bees can no longer use secured hives.

  • Securing Lightning Rods: Disabled by default. Enables securing lightning rods. Secured lightning rods do not attract lightning.

  • Securing Portals: Disabled by default. Allows securing Nether portal blocks. Such portals disable chunk loading and may disrupt connection with other portals. Use with caution.

  • Other Objects: Disabled by default. Allows securing other modded objects not included in the above categories. Use with caution.

  • Consumption When Securing: 1 by default. Determines the amount of durability or items consumed when securing blocks.

  • Consumption When Unsecuring: 1 by default. Sets the amount of durability or items needed to remove the protective layer.

  • Securing Items: minecraft:honeycomb by default. List of items that can be used to secure objects. To include a group of items, add 'tag ' before the tag name.

  • Unsecuring Items: tag minecraft:axes by default. Items used to remove the protective layer. For groups of items, use 'tag ' when specifying the tag.
