VisualOres
This mod represents an adaptation of VisualProspecting functionality for Minecraft version 1.12. It extends the capabilities of mapping mods by adding various informational layers for displaying world resources and characteristics.
System Requirements: CodeChickenLib and MixinBooter are required for the mod to function. Compatible with Journeymap and Xaero's Minimap/World Map mapping systems.
Layer Management
Layer activation is done through buttons on the world map or assigned hotkeys (not assigned by default - configure in control settings). Button placement and order are customizable in configuration:
- Button order can be changed through a list or simply by reversing the order
- Reverse order applies without game restart, list modification requires reload
- Layer order affects their display sequence when multiple are active simultaneously
- For Journeymap, buttons can be placed next to main map types or in a separate panel on the right
- For Xaero's World Map, arbitrary button placement is available
Data Sharing
Prospection data can be shared with other players using the command /vo share <player name>. This requires VisualOres to be installed on both the server and clients.
The client cache folder can be opened with /vo openCacheFolder, and all prospection data can be reset with /vo resetClientCache. Warning: cache reset is irreversible!

Requires GTCEu version 2.7.3 and mod installation on both client and server
Ore Vein Layer
Displays discovered ore veins. Collect surface rocks, interact with ore blocks, or use an electric prospector in ore mode for discovery.
While hovering over a vein, press the "action key" (default: Delete) to mark it as depleted/not depleted. Double-click sets a waypoint, double-click again removes it.
For worlds created before mod installation, VisualOres will attempt to generate vein locations, but inaccuracies may occur! Some veins might be missing, while non-existent ones might appear.
Underground Fluid Layer
Shows discovered underground fluid deposits. Use an electric prospector in fluid mode for discovery.
Immersive Engineering
Includes integration with Immersive Petroleum
Excavator Vein Layer
Displays excavator veins discovered. Collect core samples to add data to your map. Double-click toggles waypoint setting.
Thaumcraft
Aura/Flux Level Layer
Shows aura and flux levels in chunks. Hold a thaumometer to add HUD data to your map.
Astral Sorcery
Starlight Level Layer
Displays starlight concentration. Hold a fosic resonator to add nearby level data to your map. Lighter blue indicates higher concentration.
Neromantic Prime Fluid Vein Layer
Shows discovered fluid veins. Hold an ichosic resonator to add veins to your map as particle effects appear. Discovery only occurs when particle effects spawn in the chunk, requiring patience.
