Untranslated Items - Item Name Standardization

This mod solves a common problem in multilingual Minecraft modpacks by displaying all item names in English regardless of the current game language settings. If an item has a translation available in the selected language, it will be shown as an additional line in tooltips.

Why is this needed?

Many players prefer to set their native language for the interface to make reading instructions and menus easier. However, most mods don't have complete localization, which creates difficulties when searching for items through JEI and other systems. You have to search for the same item twice - in your native language and in English.

Untranslated Items eliminates this problem by standardizing item name display in English while preserving localization of other interface elements where available.

Main Features

• Item names are always displayed in English regardless of language settings
• Localized names are shown as a second line in tooltips (can be disabled in settings)

Configuration Settings

The mod provides flexible settings through the configuration file:

• replaceItemNames (default: true) Determines the primary language for item names. When true, the primary language becomes the additional language (default English), when false - the selected game language.

• additionalLanguage (default: en_us) Sets the additional language for displaying item names.

• dispBothLanguagesOnTooltip (default: true) Enables display of names in two languages in item tooltips.

• dispBothLanguagesOnWaila (default: true) Enables display of names in two languages in Waila mod tooltips.

Important Notes

• Currently this is a client-side mod
• May not work with mods that implement multilingual item names using their own methods

Usage in Modpacks

The mod can be freely used in any modpacks.
