Universal Bone Meal [Legacy Fabric]
The Universal Bone Meal mod addresses a long-standing issue in Minecraft - the limited use of bone meal. Now you can apply it to plants that previously didn't respond to this fertilizer!
About the Modification
If you've ever been frustrated that you couldn't speed up the growth of cacti, sugar cane, or other plants using bone meal, this mod is made specifically for you. It extends the functionality of the classic fertilizer and makes farming more convenient and efficient.
Enhanced Growth Capabilities
Now bone meal works with numerous plants, each having unique behavior when fertilized:
- Cacti and sugar cane grow up to 12-16 blocks tall, similar to bamboo
- Lily pads spread in groups of 3 around nearby water
- Small flowers multiply around the original flower
- Dead bushes appear in groups of 2
- Nether wart now grows as quickly as wheat
- Vines grow downward rapidly, similar to weeping vines
- Mushrooms can be grown on mycelium using bone meal
- Pumpkins and melons appear from fully grown stems after several fertilizer applications
- Chorus plants grow one block upward regardless of which part of the plant receives bone meal
- Coral blocks form reef structures when growing coral plants (only works in warm ocean biome, requires no sea pickles or sea grass above the plant)
- Grass and mycelium spread to adjacent dirt blocks, like nylium with netherrack
- Sweet berry bushes and ferns grow on podzol, like grass and flowers on grass blocks
Features
All new mechanics also work with dispensers, allowing for automatic farm creation. If needed, any function can be disabled through configuration files.
Questions and Answers
Q: How to configure this mod?
A: Configuration editing is done through the /config showfile universal_bone_meal command by choosing CLIENT or SERVER parameter. After clicking the appeared file name with .toml extension, it can be edited in an external editor. Changes are automatically applied in-game after a few seconds.
Q: What does client-side optionality mean? A: The main mod logic works on the server, the client only handles the item use animation (hand movement). Without the mod on the client side, plants will still grow but without the correct animation.
