Undead Expansion

Undead Expansion

logo

This mod is no longer supported by the developer. The author expresses gratitude for over 2 million downloads but unfortunately lost the original project files. There is a remade version called "Undead Unleashed" that can be found on relevant platforms.

About the Modification

Undead Expansion is a Forge mod that expands the Minecraft world by adding new undead creatures and other monsters while preserving the vanilla game atmosphere. The project was completely rewritten from scratch due to numerous bugs and concept changes. Although there is less content, it has become more detailed and of higher quality.

Important: The version for Minecraft 1.16.5 no longer receives updates. The developer has focused on supporting version 1.18.2 to avoid constant compatibility issues.

Key Features

Custom Spawners

spawner

Now you can create your own spawners for zombies, skeletons, creepers, and endermen. This requires:

  • Monster Ashes — rarely dropped by zombies, creepers, skeletons, endermen, and spiders if they burn in sunlight. Hunting at dawn or using the Fire Aspect enchantment will increase chances.
  • Ectoplasm — obtained from Haunters.
  • Spawner Shards — obtained by breaking regular spawners in dungeons.

After collecting all components and activating the spawner with ectoplasm, you'll get a functional monster source.

New Creatures

Revenant

revenant rebenant's true form

Appears if the player doesn't sleep for a long time. Initially only a pair of glowing green eyes is visible, making the encounter frightening. Becomes visible when attacking. Inflicts the "Death Blight" effect, rapidly decreasing health. Burns in sunlight. Drops bones and Blighted Remains.

Demon

demon demon

Inhabits the Nether. Immune to fire and knockback. Tall and strong, can set attackers on fire and heal after dealing damage. Drops Nether Wart and Embers.

Wandering Knight and Knight Leader

kinght knights

Armored enemies with good damage. Leaders appear only in dungeons and can summon fangs under attackers' feet. Smart — don't fall for simple tactics like building blocks. Drop Fractured Plating and equipment pieces.

Haunter

haunter haunter

Spirits that rarely appear at the death site of non-undead monsters at night. Fast, can blind targets. Burn in sunlight. Drop Ectoplasm.

Structures

Graves

grave

Generate in plains, savannas, and forests. Contain a unique block — Grave Soil. Breaking with a shovel during the day gives experience and standard loot (bones, nuggets, old tools). At night, chance to get diamonds, Blighted Remains, or Rotting Arm. However, desecrating graves at night may summon a Haunter.

Lost Chambers

dungeon1

Small underground dungeons with Wandering Knight Leaders, spawners of regular knights, and two loot chests.

Items and Equipment

  • Rotting Arm — zombie weapon, rarely dropped. Faster than stone sword, slows and causes nausea to enemies.
  • Creeper Husk — for creating explosive grenades.
  • Embers — furnace fuel (burns 2 times longer than coal), used to create lava buckets.
  • Rusty Tools — wielded by skeletons instead of bows. Can be upgraded to iron tools with one iron ingot.
  • Fang Sword — weapon of Knight Leaders. Marks enemies, causing fangs to appear under them. Repaired with Fractured Plating.
  • Grave Scythe — slow but powerful weapon that makes regular monsters drop Ectoplasm.
  • Fractured Plating — crafting material, also used to repair anvils.

Armor

Wandering Knight Armor

resolve

Stronger than iron but weaker than diamond or netherite. Set gives chance to gain resistance after taking damage.

Deathbringer Armor

death hand

Crafted from Revenant items. Provides immunity to Death Blight and chance to inflict it on enemies.

High-Frequency Murasama Blade

bloodshed trade

Upgrade of netherite sword using Gun-Trigger Sheath in smithing table. Has area damage (works only with empty off-hand). Reference to Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.
