Toning - Realistic Color Mixing
In the world of Minecraft, the nature of some basic colors raises questions - why, for example, can't green dye be obtained by simply mixing yellow and blue? In the real world, color theory works exactly this way, but the game doesn't account for it, forcing players to gather numerous plants to create dyes.
What does this datapack bring?
Toning fixes this oversight by adding logical recipes for obtaining three hard-to-acquire dyes through color mixing:
- Green dye - result of combining yellow and blue dye
- Brown dye - obtained by mixing orange and black dye
- Black dye - created from four units of gray dye
These implementations not only enhance the game but make the dye creation process more meaningful from the perspective of color theory basics. No more endless cactus hunting or ocean floor exploration - understanding basic color mixing principles is sufficient.
Important details
When using the datapack, place the original dye sprites in the corresponding crafting table sections according to color wheel logic. Recipes are optimized for game balance - complex combinations require planning, but applying color knowledge significantly simplifies gameplay.
