Timewarp
Requires Fabric API. Compatible with NeoForge using Sinytra Connector, requires Forgified Fabric API.
Timewarp is a Minecraft modification that brings back classic game mechanics with exciting twists! It enables you to set up challenges based on old gameplay features and configure areas using mechanics from previous game versions. Customize everything to experience the nostalgic feel of older Minecraft releases.
All mod settings are saved as a JSON file named timewarp_data.json in the world's root directory. This file stores configurations, created Timewarp areas, and shift settings - making each world's setup unique.
Mod Usage
Creating a Timewarp Area:
- Use Timewarp Axe to mark corners: simple click on a block sets the first corner, right-click sets the second corner
- Execute
/timewarp create [name]command to create an area between the selected corners. Replace [name] with your desired area name - When holding Timewarp Axe, area boundaries will be visible within render distance
Historical Mechanics
The configuration includes numerous parameters to recreate classic gameplay:
- Food stacking prevention - prevents combining food items
- Classic minecart camera - player's head rotates according to movement direction
- Old animal behavior - sheep, chickens, and cows don't drop food, sheep shearing via punching
- Sprint control - option to disable fast movement
- Retro player HUD - old interface, direct health restoration from food (no hunger bar)
- Disabling modern features - such as swimming, sneaking, villager trading
- Smooth lighting blocking - return of sharp shadows from early versions
- Old textures - use of retro graphics
