The Long Story - Complete Immersion in a Virtual Dimension
The Long Story mod introduces players to a completely new dimension called "The Simulation." This virtual world is filled with unique biomes, rare resources, unusual mobs, and mysterious structures. Exploration becomes a key gameplay element—it will help you obtain powerful equipment and overcome all challenges.
Dangers and Opportunities of the Simulation
Before entering the Simulation, it's important to prepare. You'll need a teleportation remote for safe return. In this virtual world, you'll encounter:
- Exclusive biomes to explore
- Various structures with valuable loot
- Unique monsters with special behavior mechanics
- New resources and equipment
How to Start Playing with the Mod
To begin, you need to mine Thestone ore and obtain Thestone powder from it. This material serves as the basis for creating ingots, tools, and other items. After defeating the Wither, use the Wither Star along with four End Crystals to create a Power Star—an important component for crafting the Greffed Command System.
This system allows you to create advanced blocks, including the Simulation Teleporter and homemade command blocks that provide permanent potion effects. For the teleportation remote to work, you must have slept in a bed at least once—then it will teleport you directly to it.
Important: don't forget to take the teleportation remote before entering the Simulation, otherwise you'll be trapped and can only return through death.
Working with the Greffed Command System
After creating the Greffed Command System block, activate it using an Essence Container. To obtain essence, use a Soul Container on the corresponding mob (the mob must have less than 15 HP).

Different essences provide various effects. For example, the Vision essence will provide night vision through the Greffed Command System block.
Additional Features
The Pure Amethyst Shard can be crafted using a special recipe (currently not displayed in REI).

To create a special machine, you'll need an Amethyst Core, which can be obtained after defeating the Amethyst Boss. To summon it, you need an Amethyst Key.
