The Hybrid

This mod features a unique horror creature that combines traits from the most famous entities of popular horror modifications. Development is directed by Lord0wnage, with creation handled by the author of Midnight Lurker.
Important: The mod requires GeckoLib to function.
Sound Settings
If the music or jumpscare sounds are too loud, you can reduce their volume in the game settings - they are located in the "Jukebox/Note Block" category.
Items
Vile Flesh - drops from the Hybrid, used for crafting.
Vile Bone - drops from the Hybrid, used for crafting.
Vile Mirror - teleports you to your spawn point when used.
Vile Blade - a sword with special properties: when hitting a mob, there's a chance to summon lightning. If the mob's health is above 40, the lightning deals damage equal to 1/3 of its current health.
Crimson Campfire - a placeable item that, when activated, provides regeneration to nearby players.
Crimson Flame - creates "Crimson Fire" on the ground and turns into an empty bottle after placement.
Hybrid and Fear System
Hybrid Behavior

The Hybrid exhibits various behaviors after spawning:
- Can observe the player from a distance, similar to the Man from the Fog. When looked at directly, it will either start chasing or disappear.

- Can slowly stalk the player at a moderate distance. When detected, it will continue watching or become frightened and disappear.
- Capable of stalking from afar, disappearing or initiating pursuit when spotted.
- Can approach the player when not seen, and either disappear or attack upon close contact.
- Observes from a distance but teleports near the player when looked at, then either disappears or begins pursuit.

The chance of disappearing when detected is higher than initiating a chase.
If the Hybrid is not interacted with for a long time, it may disappear, become angry and attack the nearest player, or change its behavior pattern.

Against strong entities, the Hybrid deals full damage, unlike against players where it uses only a quarter of its strength.
The Hybrid can find players both on the surface and underground.
When killed, the Hybrid drops parts of itself that can be used to create powerful items.
The Hybrid can randomly grab the player during an attack. Without a shield, this leads to instant death, but sometimes it may release the victim if it believes the time isn't right.
Approaching the Hybrid rapidly increases the fear level.
Fear System

The fear system keeps players constantly alert and attentive to their surroundings, especially when the fear level exceeds 2 bars. Random sounds and events can either indicate the Hybrid's presence or simply be perceptual tricks.
Fear level influences various events in the mod:
- Possibility of "panic attacks" for the player
- Occurrence of random sounds
- Chance of jumpscares
Fear Increase:
- At night on the surface or in dark caves without light sources
- Gradually increases during gameplay (very slowly)
Fear Decrease:
- Near blocks with light level 15 and above
- During the day on the surface
- When consuming certain foods, fishing, or sleeping
- Fruits, vegetables, and bread slightly reduce fear
- Fishing reduces fear more significantly but not instantly
- Sleep provides the greatest reduction - 2-3 sleeps reduce fear by an entire stage
Configuration Settings
To edit the configuration, go to the config folder in your Minecraft directory and open the file in any text editor. You can also use the /hybrid_vx:Config command in chat to open the in-game settings menu.
Available Settings:
- hybrid_spawntime_min - minimum Hybrid spawn time in seconds
- hybrid_spawntime_max - maximum Hybrid spawn time in seconds
- can_have_panic_attacks - enable/disable panic attacks
- hallucination_jumpscare - possibility of jumpscares during hallucinations
- hybrid_spawn_chance - Hybrid spawn chance (lower number = higher chance)
- hybrid_chase_music - music during chase sequences
- hybrid_mftf_ai_spawn_sound - spawn sounds when using Man from the Fog behavior
