TFC Ambiental: Second edition

Immerse Yourself in a Realistic Temperature System

Imagine the feeling of returning home to a warm fireplace after a long cold night or the refreshing coolness of an oasis in the scorching desert. This mod brings these sensations to TerraFirmaCraft by adding a sophisticated body temperature system and corresponding environmental changes.

Key System Features

The main goal is to maintain body temperature between 0 and 30 degrees, aiming for the ideal 15 degrees. The temperature indicator should remain as white as possible. The rate of heating and cooling depends on numerous factors, including surrounding blocks, air humidity, and other conditions.

Factors Affecting Temperature

Environment: Temperature in different TFC regions depends on season and location. Humidity also plays an important role.

Weather Conditions: Being in rain or snow quickly cools the character. Even inside shelter during a storm, temperature decreases.

Time of Day: Temperature is higher during the day, cooler in morning and evening, and cold at night.

Liquids: Water cools, while hot springs (or lava in emergencies) warm with high effectiveness.

Temperature Regulation Methods

Shade and Shelter: Roof overhead on hot days or any headgear protects from direct sunlight.

Health and Nutrition: Good hydration helps withstand heat, while satiety helps with cold. Fruits and vegetables cool in summer, while meat and grains warm in winter.

Underground: Temperature in mines right below surface is quite low but increases with depth.

Heat Sources: Campfires, forges, and other heating devices warm, especially in enclosed spaces.

Clothing: Wool and leather clothing warms, while silk and burlap clothing cools with varying effectiveness.

Survival Strategies in Heat

In hot weather, seek shade under trees or roofs. Maintain hydration and wear headgear (straw hat is the best early option). In emergencies, cool off in water. Work underground below y=135 during daytime, avoid running and hot devices. Explore in morning or evening, and build homes on elevations in tropical areas.

Survival Strategies in Cold

In cold seasons, create cozy homes with good roofs. Craft wool or leather clothing before autumn ends. Maintain satiety and use heat sources. TFC hot springs serve for emergency warming. Clear snow around houses. Carry hot ingots for short-term warming. Explore during daytime, and build homes at sea level in cold regions.

Clothing Types

Insulated Leather: Made from leather armor and thread - best choice for first winter equipment.

Wool: Requires wool cloth, harder to obtain in large quantities - powerful but expensive winter equipment.

Silk: Made from silk cloth cools and provides moderate insulation.

Burlap: Made from burlap cloth cools less than silk but insulates better.
