Tired of situations where you've crafted an iron pickaxe with perfect enchantments and don't want to discard it? Or found a unique iron sword with amazing characteristics in an End City? The Templated modification offers you a simple solution! Use the new diamond upgrade template in a smithing table to transform your enchanted iron tools into diamond ones!

Obtaining Upgrades

Diamond upgrade templates can be found on zombies, skeletons, and annoying phantoms! They can also be crafted independently - this requires 4 stone units, 4 iron ingots, and 1 diamond.

Legendary Tridents

After lengthy battles with armies of guardians shooting magic lasers, you probably expect to receive the legendary trident - the weapon of sea rulers! But in the standard game, you'll only get sponges. Templated fixes this injustice by giving you the opportunity to obtain the well-deserved trident.

By defeating elder guardians, you'll receive a special guardian quill. Combining it with a trident handle (which is created using a diamond upgrade template from a stick and a prismarine shard), you can become the true master of the seas!

About Development

This is my second mod, created during several hours of planning. Plans include adding a configurable option to disable standard diamond tool recipes. I originally developed this mod for personal use in a modpack where diamond upgrade templates are slightly more difficult to obtain - this helps extend progression and increase usage time of tools at different levels.

The main idea was to make crafting diamond tools in the early game feel less costly in terms of diamonds. Now there's no feeling of wasting precious resources when you could manage with iron tools. This allows enchanting your gear earlier without worrying about spending lucky enchantments on something temporary.
