The Studded Upgrade Smithing Template is found by brushing suspicious sand or gravel (archaeology). Clone it like any vanilla template using a leather strip as the central material:

Mod's Purpose
This mod restores the Studded armor set that existed in Minecraft Indev versions from December 31, 2009 to February 6, 2010. During that time, the set spawned in the player's starting inventory but couldn't be equipped and provided no protection.
Modpack Compatibility
The mod works perfectly for builds where enchanting is disabled or armor weight systems are used. Studded completes the light armor branch (leather → chainmail → studded), balanced with the heavy armor branch (gold/copper → iron → diamond).
All textures are drawn in the "Programmer Art" style.
