Starlight x Create

Forge modification that completely rewrites the lighting system to fix performance issues and lighting errors. This version is specifically adapted for 1.16.5 with additional support for the Create mod.

Compatibility

Starlight can be installed either on the server or client side of the game. It's important to note that simultaneous installation on both sides is not required. When the modification is used on a server, players can connect using either Vanilla or Starlight versions. Similarly, if the mod is installed on the client, it's possible to connect to servers with any configuration.

Be aware that using Starlight may cause conflicts with other modifications, as this mod represents a radical overhaul of the lighting system. It's recommended to review current compatibility issues.

Purpose

The primary goal of Starlight's development was performance optimization for highly loaded servers that frequently faced slowdowns due to inefficient operation of the original lighting mechanism. The only effective solution was a global rework of the entire system using modification tools. The ability to adapt to various configurations allows using the benefits of this solution in different usage scenarios.

Performance

Thanks to the optimized lighting mechanism, the mod demonstrates significant performance improvement in several key aspects: chunk generation, block updates at high altitudes, and standard lighting operations.
