Mod Description

This mod adds randomized characteristics to all armor items in Minecraft - both vanilla and from other mods. Armor gains additional properties such as increased maximum health, movement speed boost, damage reduction, knockback resistance, thorns return damage, and many other useful effects.

Each characteristic has its own chance of appearing on an armor item, with different attributes able to combine with each other. The system works with all armor types based on Minecraft's standard system.

Important to note: characteristics are applied when armor is added to a player's inventory. If an attribute activates, its specific parameters are determined - for example, the amount of health bonus. By default, the chances of characteristics appearing are set low to maintain game balance (e.g., 5% for maximum health bonus). All settings can be modified through the configuration file.

Main Features

• Additional Health: increases the character's maximum health pool
• Damage Reduction: percentage reduction of final damage taken, effect stacks exponentially between all armor items
• Movement Speed: percentage increase in base movement speed, effect stacks linearly
• Knockback Resistance: standard Minecraft mechanic providing a chance to avoid horizontal knockback when attacked
• Thorns: returns a portion of received damage to the attacker, effect stacks linearly
• Rerolling Attributes: ability to change armor attributes by placing it with lapis lazuli in an anvil (reroll cost is configurable)
• Upgrading Attributes: improving attribute quality using diamonds in an anvil - the system only replaces characteristics that became better after rerolling
• Scalable Effects: duration of various status effects (slow, fire, poison) can depend on attribute values

Configuration

The mod provides extensive customization options: you can configure the probability of each characteristic appearing, bonus amounts, and many other parameters. The configuration file is located at config/spoornarmorattributes.json5.

Dependencies

Required for the mod to work:

• Cloth Config API
• Fabric API

The mod must be installed on the server for characteristics to function and on the client to display attribute tooltips. If the mod is only installed on the server, characteristics will work but players won't see information about them in the interface.
