One of the key features of Snowy is that it's only required on the server side. This means that players with the vanilla version of Minecraft can connect to the server and enjoy winter landscapes without needing to install any additional mods on their clients.

The mod generates worlds where almost all biomes are covered with snow and ice. Also, instead of regular rain, most biomes now experience snowfall, creating a truly winter atmosphere.

For maximum immersion in the winter fairy tale, there's a game setting 'snowAlways' that allows for continuous snowfall - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

It's important to note that biomes that naturally don't have precipitation (such as deserts) remain unchanged and are not covered with snow.
