Smart Villagers Follow Emeralds

A simple Fabric mod that makes villagers follow players holding emerald-related items. The list of attention-attracting items includes emeralds themselves, emerald blocks, emerald ore, and deepslate emerald ore.

How is it different from similar mods?

Although functionally similar to other solutions, this mod has several important advantages. Many existing mods add an AI goal to modify villager behavior, which conflicts with the brain task system used by villagers since version 1.14. This leads to unstable operation and unpredictable emerald following.

Smart Villagers Follow Emeralds uses a proper brain task to implement following behavior, making its operation significantly more reliable and resistant to future game updates. It is this intelligent implementation that is reflected in the mod's name.

An additional advantage lies in the use of tags to determine items that attract villagers. This allows server owners and modpack creators to easily add any custom items to the list according to their preferences.
