Slay
Slay is an evolving mod that introduces three new tools/weapons and one armor item to the game, all unified by the theme of FAST movement.
Important note: This mod is not balanced for either singleplayer or multiplayer gameplay. Using these weapons, especially when enchanted, will make you incredibly powerful. While this is precisely the main idea of the mod—to gain superpowers and fun movement weapons—we plan to work on balance in the future.
Feature Overview
The Shotgun!
A new ranged weapon that not only deals decent explosive damage but can also launch you upward if shot at your feet!
- You gain an invincibility frame when firing
- Can be enchanted with "Blast Propulsion," which increases the upward momentum when shooting at the ground
- Theoretically, it can launch other players too if shot at their feet (at least, that's what you can tell your friends when you get this weapon)
The Hammer!
A massive heavy melee weapon capable of flinging the wielder forward and dealing massive damage on impact!
- You can repeatedly use the smash attack ability on land to essentially break the sound barrier
- Try smashing onto water! You'll skip like a stone!
- Can be enchanted with "Swing" (increases throwing speed) or "Smashing" (enhances smash attack damage and block damage). Block damage can be disabled via a game rule
The Grappling Hook!
A fairly straightforward tool—shoot and go.
- You don't actually gain velocity from firing; it's more like an upgraded Ender Pearl
- You can sneak while the hook is in the air to cancel the swing and briefly hover
- It's not really a grappling hook but more of a teleportation gun, so I might rename it in the future
The Spring Boots!
Boots that completely negate fall damage.
- Not much else to add here
- Mainly included for consistency with other items
There's plenty to experiment with in the mod! If you have ideas—suggest them!
Yes, the mod is heavily inspired by games like Doom, Quake, and Ultrakill. Future updates are planned with new interesting weapons, though coming up with unique items that offer new movement options is quite challenging.
We might add blood or gore elements in an update, but they will be disabled by default for those who find it unpleasant.
