Sinhika's Bark

The Sinhika's Bark mod introduces an innovative way to interact with tree bark in Minecraft.

Compatibility

Works with Minecraft 1.7.2/1.7.10 and Forge version 1.7.2-10.12.2.1147 or newer. Also likely compatible with build 1121.

Main Features

The most significant addition after installing this mod is a specialized tool called the "bark spud". This implement allows you to carefully strip bark from logs of various tree types.

The Bark Spud

Use this tool on tree trunks or wood blocks just like you would a regular axe. It gradually deteriorates and will require repair. An interesting feature: the amount of bark obtained depends on both the tool's harvest level and magical enchantments like Fortune.

Bark Blocks

By combining nine pieces of any type of bark, you can create a complete building block that resembles a log but has bark covering all sides. These blocks are excellent for various construction projects.

Bark bundles can also be smelted into charcoal, just like regular wood. Individual pieces of bark burn well, though they consume quickly—similar in speed to tree saplings.

Special Bark Types

Birch Bark

Paper

The thin, paper-like bark of birch trees can be used to craft actual paper! Three pieces of birch bark yield three sheets of paper.

Birchbark Canoes

The most exciting feature of this mod is the ability to craft traditional birchbark canoes. Five bundles of birch bark and one slime ball (used as pitch for sealing) create a unique watercraft distinguished by increased durability. These canoes don't break upon colliding with rocks, lily pads, or squids.

Jungle Tree Bark

From the bark of jungle trees, you'll obtain cinnamon sticks. If you have the Pam's HarvestCraft mod installed, these will be fully compatible with its crafting and item recognition systems. If you don't have that mod, these sticks can be crafted into an attractive reddish-brown building block resembling jungle wood.
