Simply Platinum
The Simply Platinum mod introduces platinum as an enhanced alternative to gold, using the smithing table for item creation. The development is balanced according to vanilla game mechanics.
Requires Fabric API to function. Some interactions with piglins depend on Piglib, which may not be available for all versions.

Resource Acquisition
- Platinum ore and deepslate platinum ore generate at the same height as diamonds (Y14 and below), in veins of up to 4 blocks with similar rarity.
- Nether platinum ore spawns at the level of ancient debris (Y22 and below) in veins of up to 4 blocks with comparable rarity; drops 2-4 platinum nuggets when mined.
- Platinum ingots can be found in chests of the following structures: bastion treasuries, buried treasures, desert temples, jungle temples, village temples, village tool smiths, and village weapon smiths.
Material Characteristics
- Platinum swords deal damage equal to diamond but inferior to netherite.
- Platinum armor provides better protection than iron but worse than diamond.
- Platinum horse armor protects better than iron and gold but inferior to diamond.
- Platinum tools mine blocks at the same speed as gold tools.
- Platinum durability is 3 times higher than iron and half that of diamond.
- Platinum enchantability matches gold.
- Platinum apples grant absorption I for 2 minutes, haste I for 10 seconds, and strength I for 10 seconds.
- Enchanted platinum apples provide absorption IV for 2 minutes, dolphin's grace for 5 minutes, haste II for 20 seconds, strength II for 20 seconds, and water breathing for 5 minutes.
- Cleric villagers may offer the trade of 1 platinum ingot for 1 emerald at the journeyman level.
- Piglins value platinum items as much as gold items.
- Piglins are neutral to players wearing any platinum armor (requires Piglib).
- Piglins can barter for platinum ingots (requires Piglib).
Block Features
- Platinum blocks can be used as beacon bases.
- Platinum blocks can be converted into 8 blocks of cut platinum using a stonecutter.
