Shadow Mounts

This modification, created specifically for SpookyJam 2024, allows transforming regular horses into their mysterious shadow versions using a unique item - the Shadow Saddle.

Any horse can be equipped with this special saddle, after which the animal turns into its shadow form. Visually, this is manifested by darkening the texture and the appearance of bluish patterns resembling soul fire. When riding such a horse, special particles appear, creating an atmospheric effect.

Configurable parameters

darkenHorseTexture (default = true): Determines whether the horse's texture should darken when equipped with a shadow saddle

showShadowHorseParticles (default = true): Enables or disables the display of particles for shadow horses

onlyShowParticlesWhenRiding (default = true): If enabled, particles are only displayed when the player is riding the horse

Visual effects

Shadow horses generate special particles - a few when standing still and many more when moving!

Horse transformation

The new saddle completely changes the appearance of any horse, turning it into a shadow creature. The effect is currently purely visual, but additional functional features are planned for the future.
