Seeker Compass

Overview

Seeker Compass is a unique navigation tool with advanced entity tracking capabilities. It enables players to locate other players, animals, and pets, making it essential for cooperative adventures and retrieving lost creatures.

To initiate tracking, simply right-click on any living entity. To stop tracking, repeat the action on the already tracked target.

Usage Mechanics

During operation, the compass gradually consumes durability - each second of active tracking reduces it by 1 unit. When durability reaches 1, the tool breaks similarly to elytras and becomes unusable.

The compass starts with 1200 durability points, providing 20 minutes of continuous operation. To repair the tool, use magma cream in an anvil.

Acquisition Methods

• Nether fortresses - rarely found in corridor chests
• Bastions - high chance to appear in treasure chests
• Zombified piglins - very small chance to spawn with it in offhand All generation parameters can be adjusted through configuration files or datapacks.

Display Information

When the compass is active, it shows detailed information about the tracked entity. If the target is in another dimension or dead, the "Alive" section will display "False," blocking all enchantment functions.

The compass keeps tracked entities' chunks loaded to function over long distances, though dimension reloading might reset tracking. In this case, the Tracking enchantment will display the last known position.

Enchantments

All special enchantments can only be obtained through structure exploration or fishing.

Persistence - prevents tracked entities from despawning

• Compatible with all other enchantments

Tracking - displays information about the block, position, and biome where the target is located

• Compatible with all other enchantments

Summoning - teleports pets and tag-designated entities to the user with minimal durability cost

• Incompatible with Warping, Voodoo, and Stalking

Warping - allows teleportation to the tracked target at the cost of destroying the compass

• Incompatible with Summoning, Voodoo, and Stalking

Voodoo (I-III) - inflicts magical damage to the target from a distance using durability (1 + level damage per strike)

• Incompatible with Mending, Warping, Summoning, and Stalking

Stalking - enables viewing through the tracked entity's perspective with 10x durability consumption

• Incompatible with Summoning, Voodoo, and Warping

Durability-consuming enchantments bypass Unbreaking effects.

• You Can't See Me! - perform the unbinding ritual

Unbinding Ritual

This mechanic allows removal of tracking by other players and grants the "You Can't See Me" achievement. To perform the ritual, crouch and right-click a crying obsidian block with an empty compass, spending 10 experience levels and all durability.
