Rough Start - Harsh Survival Beginning
Development Status
This collection pack is fully playable, however further development is temporarily suspended. Work is currently underway on a new version called "Far Frozen" with a similar concept - challenging early survival.
About the Concept
Remember those mysterious and challenging first days in Minecraft? This collection aims to extend the feeling of the initial trial - finding wood, familiar to every player.
Radical World Changes
Imagine a lifeless landscape - trees are completely absent in the overworld, and the number of animals is significantly reduced. Your main task is to survive until you find an alternative source of wood.
Good luck on this difficult journey! Through your actions, you can restore the world and make it beautiful.
Recommended Settings
For the optimal gaming experience, it is recommended to play on "Hard" difficulty with amplified terrain generation, and also disable wandering trader spawning and insomnia. Don't forget to set these parameters when creating the world (or leave them default for an easier playthrough).
Main Game Changes
Radical Environmental Restrictions:
- Trees completely absent in the overworld
- Grass no longer drops seeds
- Farmable crops can only be found in loot chests
- Common livestock became an endgame goal through End loot
- Bone meal significantly weakened - new fertilizer recipe appeared
- Composter requires tier 3 wooden slabs
Generation and Structure Changes:
- No pillager outposts, woodland mansions, shipwrecks, or ruined portals
- Villages absent (you'll need to catch a zombie villager)
- Ore deposits rebalanced - less coal and iron
- Alternative stone ores absent with compensating recipes
New Possibilities:
- Starter recipes for stone tools, campfire, fishing rod, slabs/stairs and others
- Slabs can be turned back into blocks by simple stacking
Fertilizer Secrets
To create fertilizer, you need to combine 4 units of each component: early farmable crops, plant fiber sources, any fish, and bones or white dye.
Suitable Crops: glow berries, beetroot, carrot, potato, cocoa beans, wart, melon, or pumpkin. Plant Fibers: grasses, ferns, flowers, cacti, lilies, vines, or moss.
Completion and Prospects
The collection is undergoing final polishing. Although some adjustments and additions may be needed, it is currently about 90% ready.
Every element of vanilla Minecraft is available for obtaining. You might need to find an alternative path, but everything necessary awaits its pioneers.
Planned Additions
Currently unavailable but planned for future versions: several animals, common entities and items from vanilla Minecraft.
