Reduced Healing - Balancing Minecraft's Healing System

Minecraft's health restoration system has undergone numerous changes throughout the game's existence. In early versions, healing capabilities were almost unlimited, making the player nearly invulnerable. With the introduction of the hunger system, the situation changed - players became more vulnerable, but new mechanics emerged that strengthened the character, such as sprinting.

The modern system includes instant recovery after combat, allowing quick return to gameplay, but creates the problem of excessive character survivability. Especially considering the powerful arsenal available to the player and the appearance of the totem of undying, which ultimately undermined the difficulty balance.

Main Mod Changes

Limited Instant Healing - automatic health regeneration works only outside of combat. This allows quick recovery after difficult situations but doesn't make the player immortal during battles.

Stackability Changes - golden apples and enchanted golden apples can no longer be stacked. Regular golden apples in stacks provided over 25 full health bars, which was excessive. Now all healing items have the same stackability limitations.

Totem Balancing - the number of totems of undying obtained from raids is limited to two pieces and only on hard difficulty with Bad Omen 2+. Woodland Mansions remain unchanged.

Compatibility

The mod uses datapack overrides, item registry overrides, and event cancellation, so functionality conflicts with other mods are possible. There should be no critical errors, but if problems are detected, it's recommended to report them to the developer.
