Reckless Drilling (Forge + Fabric Drill Mod)

NOTE: Currently, the Forge version does not include Skypiercer and Fighter Drill tools. An update adding these features will be released soon.

Mod Overview

This Fabric modification introduces several specialized drill types to Minecraft. These tools can mine blocks like a standard diamond pickaxe, but when utilizing their special abilities, they consume more durability and do not drop the mined blocks.

Drill Types and Capabilities

Standard Mining Drill

A simple drill with a half-second cooldown. When activated with right-click, it excavates an area of blocks in front of the player.

Combat Drill

This tool launches the player toward enemies, dealing damage upon impact.

Powered Drills

Two variants that outperform the standard drill in speed. They don't break but can overheat. Cannot be used as regular pickaxes.

Skypiercer

Perfect for use during Elytra flight, providing both speed and combat capabilities.

Breaker Drill

Enables tunneling through solid blocks, destroying everything in the path except exceptionally durable materials.

Important Warnings

WARNING: Despite testing under standard conditions, using the Breaker Drill may result in void deaths or becoming trapped under the Nether ceiling. The mod includes protective measures for extreme altitude mining, but these may fail when used with other modifications. Exercise particular caution when drilling at very high or low elevations, especially with mods that alter movement speed. Though, the name "Reckless Drilling" speaks for itself.

Settings and Compatibility

Two game rules control item drops from drill usage: drillsDropItems and breakerDrops. Both are disabled by default.

The latest mod version is compatible with all Minecraft 1.19 releases.
