Real-Time Sound Changer
How to Use the Modification
Launch the game, then close it. Navigate to the resourcepacks folder and open the pack named "new_sounds". Inside, you'll find the structure: assets → minecraft → sounds → block, containing folders for every vanilla game block.
Select the folder of the desired block and place monaural .ogg files in the corresponding directories: place (placement), break (breaking), step (footsteps), hit (impact), and fall (falling). After relaunching Minecraft, you'll hear the updated block sounds!
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to create the resource pack myself? No, the mod automatically generates it on first launch.
Is editing sounds.json required? No, the modification independently creates and updates this file every time the game starts.
Can I disable custom sounds? Yes, use the command /rtsc disable to return to original sounds and /rtsc enable to re-enable custom ones.
Why aren't the sounds playing? Ensure files are in .ogg format and monaural (not stereo). Also verify that the "new_sounds" resource pack is activated in game settings.
What if I disabled the resource pack? Always keep the resource pack enabled for proper functionality. If you want to temporarily revert to standard sounds, use the /rtsc disable command instead of deactivating the pack.
