RandomPatches (Forge)

RandomPatches is a collection of various fixes and improvements for Minecraft that require ASM transformers. The mod is completely standalone and does not require installation of additional dependencies.

Main Features

Connection Timeout Configuration

In the standard version of Minecraft, connection and read timeouts are hardcoded, which can cause issues on slower computers. RandomPatches allows configuring these parameters:

• Login timeout (starting from version 1.9)
• Read timeout (starting from version 1.12)
• KeepAlive packet interval

By default, both timeouts are set to 90 seconds.

Gameplay Improvements

Configurable Player Speed Limits Eliminates the "rubber banding" effect and "moved too quickly!" messages when moving too fast. Can configure limits for normal movement, elytra flight, and vehicle movement.

Forced Return to Title Screen After disconnecting from a server, the game returns to the main menu instead of the multiplayer screen.

Faster Language Switching Almost completely eliminates delays when changing the in-game language.

Visual Fixes

End Portals Fixes particle textures when breaking portals and improves their rendering. Portals now display from both above and below.

Particle Fixes Restores many particles that weren't displayed in the vanilla version due to long-standing bugs:

• Heart particles from breeding animals
• Snow particles when creating snow golems
• Particles when lava and water mix
• Armor breaking particles on mobs

Technical Fixes

Underwater Boats Changes the buoyancy of boats underwater, allowing them to float. Can also configure prevention of passenger ejection from underwater boats.

Minecart AI Fix Solves the issue where non-player entities could use their AI to move minecarts.

MC-2025 Fix Addresses the problem with incorrect entity boundary calculations that could lead to suffocation.

Additional Features

Separate Dismount Keybind Adds a separate keybind for dismounting vehicles, separating it from the sneak key.

Configurable Window Title Allows customization of the game window title and icon.

Smooth Eye Level Change Animation Restores the smooth eye level change animation that was removed in version 1.8.

Compatibility

When installed on the client, the mod is fully compatible with vanilla servers, and when installed on a server - with vanilla clients. All fixes work either only on the client or only on the server.

Configuration

All features can be configured through configuration files. On Minecraft versions 1.9 and above, commands /rpreload for reloading server configuration and /rpreloadclient for client configuration are available.
