Pyromancer - Mod for Fire Magic Enthusiasts

The Pyromancer mod significantly expands Minecraft's possibilities by adding numerous fire and pyromancy-related elements. You'll gain access to over 10 unique weapon types, 3 armor sets, various combat equipment, and two completely new biomes in the Nether.

IMPORTANT: This mod requires TerraBlender!

Beginning Your Pyromancer Journey

Your fiery adventure begins with searching for pyrowood trees that grow in deserts, towering above the dunes. The wood from these trees is a valuable resource capable of withstanding extreme temperatures but completely intolerant to water. From it, you can craft the Pyromancer Table, then venture into the Nether for materials to create the Blazing Journal.

Blazing Journal - Your Faithful Companion

The Blazing Journal will become your main tool in mastering fire magic. It can store blaze powder used for applying powerful pyromancies against enemies. To charge it, simply place the journal in the special slot on the Pyromancer Table and add blaze powder. The journal's maximum capacity is 256 fire units, with each portion of powder providing 8 units.

Place the Blazing Journal in your off-hand to activate its capabilities.

The journal's primary purpose is enhancing your attacks with pyromancies. During your adventures, you may find enchanted books with golden spells. Such spells can only be applied to the Journal and affect the weapon in your main hand. Each attack with compatible weapon consumes 1 fire unit from the Journal.

Quills for Journal Customization

You can personalize your Blazing Journal with various quills. These modifications not only change appearance but also add special abilities to attacks enhanced by Journal spells:

  • Blazing Quill - standard quill without special effects
  • Membrane Quill - reduces enhanced attack cost to zero at night
  • Fungus Quill - releases spores that slow enemies (+1 fire cost)
  • Nomad Quill - purchased from wandering trader, restores hunger on attack (+1 fire cost)
  • Smoldering Twig - summons pyroroots that paralyze enemy and apply Incineration (+2 fire cost)
  • Hellblaze Quill - artifacts have halved cost and cooldown (+3 fire cost)

Pyromancer's Arsenal

New Weapon Class - Maces

The mod introduces a new weapon class - maces, heavy weapons for breaking through enemy defenses. They deal less damage than axes but have higher attack speed.

Diverse Weapons

  • Slingshot - semi-ranged weapon that can be loaded with various projectiles to complement melee attacks. Like a crossbow, it's charged with right mouse button but fired with left mouse button.
  • Hogwhip - weapon designed for dealing with multiple enemies. Its attacks can pierce unlimited opponents and pull them closer, opening them for melee attack.
  • Bottle of Vapors - throwable weapon that spreads mercury vapors on collision
  • Bombsack - grenade analogue that explodes on collision
  • Scatter Bombsack - enhanced version of bombsack
  • Napalm Bombsack - creates fire on collision
  • Rotten Bombsack - doesn't explode but spreads Rot on collision
  • Firelink - greatsword that can serve as return point. Simply right-click on campfire to link it with sword, then right-click to return to it.
  • Flammenklinge - legendary sword filled with centuries of rage. Has two modes: curved and straight. In curved mode allows jumping on enemies and dealing massive damage on landing. In straight mode creates fire stream on attack.
  • Schmelzstern - legendary mace overflowing with anger and hate. Its attacks have increased knockback, destroy enemy armor and apply Incineration.

Coatings and Artifacts

Coatings - consumable items that imbue your weapon with special effects. Cannot have more than one coating simultaneously, using new coating replaces current one.

  • Mercury Coating - weapons apply Wither and deal 10% damage as wither damage
  • Fiery Coating - weapons apply Incineration and deal 10% damage as fire damage
  • Rot Coating - weapons apply Rot
  • Cooling Coating - weapons apply Slowness and deal extra damage to fire-resistant mobs

Artifacts - weapons crafted from Molten Pyrowood that use fire from Blazing Journal to apply pyromancies against enemies:

  • Sizzling Hand - shoots fast blazing fireballs that explode on impact (cost: 2 fire units)
  • Schizoid Helm - summons Schizoid Helm that attacks nearby monsters and explodes after some time (cost: 10 fire units)
  • Call of Flames - incinerates enemies with fire stream (cost: 4 fire units)
  • Court of Embers - creates fire tornado that sucks in enemies (cost: 4 fire units)
  • Lantern of Blazing Souls - summons blazing souls (cost: 4 fire units)

Pyromancer Armor

  • Marauder's Armor - chance to deflect projectile
  • Pyromancer's Armor - reduces artifact cost by 1, chance not to consume bombsack when thrown, weapons enchanted with Fire Aspect apply Brimflame, when damaged at low health chance to summon friendly Blazing Souls
  • Armor of Hellblaze Monarch - all Pyromancer's Armor effects, resistance to Brimflame, Incineration and burning

Resources and Materials

  • Brimstone - found in Basalt Deltas
  • Mercury - found in Nether Wastes and Forest of Rot, its ore often hidden under netherrack but detectable by emitted vapors
  • Cooling Element - dropped from Frostcopper Golems
  • Netherite Shards - dropped from any pigmen from Pigmen Legion

New Biomes

Flaming Grove

Homeland of pyrowood trees, ever-burning forest where Unburned originates. Most life forms here are fiery plants that fear not fire but water and cold. Besides plants, Flaming Grove is home to creatures born from pyrowood.

Forest of Rot

Cursed place where no flame ignites, where withering rages and all life slowly dies. Plants and fungi here are afflicted with Rot, which decays everything except gold. Fortunately, Rot is easily purged with fire so skilled pyromancer should have no trouble dealing with it. Local piglins have gone insane after living with Rot for ages and now they're nothing more than mindless beasts lurking in the Forest waiting for prey. Unlike regular piglins, they despise gold, enraging at its glint.

Inhabitants of the New World

  • Frostcopper Golem - ancient war machines created by unknown civilization. These humanoid golems with thick metal armor and cooling element were designed solely to resist pygromancers' fire magic. Centuries have passed, but copper golems still lie beneath snow on frozen battlefields. During blizzards and thunderstorms, something causes them to emerge from ground seeking enemies. They attack piglins on sight and are neutral to players.
  • Pyroents - grove protectors who won't hesitate to attack anyone threatening their home, even if intruder only took a flower.
  • Pyroacorns - as name suggests, young pyroents not strong enough to protect Grove but agile enough to lure intruder to adult pyroents.
  • Scorches - insectoid creatures whose only function is pollinating local plants and making wrong honey from them. They won't give any to you without fight.
  • Marauders - savage hunters wearing hoglin hide as trophy. Their actions show neither fear nor logic, spreading Rot with their claws.
  • Pigsploders - once master explosive makers, now left without gunpowder to craft explosives so they steal others' food to rot it and return it right into victim's face in form somewhat resembling bombsack.

Spells and Enchantments

Blazing Journal

  • Blazing Wounds - axe attacks on burning enemy make it burst with magma
  • Undertaker - shovel attacks on burning enemy stun it
  • Infernal Harvest - hoe attacks ignite enemies in large area
  • Yatagarasu - sword attacks on burning enemy spread damage dealt to it
  • Scalding Spikes - mace attacks cause fire streams to erupt from enemy
  • Volcanic Mark - slingshot projectiles mark enemies, melee critical strike on marked enemy deals more damage

Maces

  • Sturdiness - maces ignore part of enemy armor
  • Suppression - maces deal damage through shield. Incompatible with Breakthrough
  • Breakthrough - maces cooldown shields on attack. Incompatible with Suppression
  • Rush - maces deal more damage if you're faster than attacked one

Hogwhip

  • Traction - hogwhip pulls enemies with greater strength
  • Elongation - hogwhip has increased attack range
  • Crowd Control - hogwhip deals more damage to enemies in group

Slingshot

  • Resilence - slingshot projectiles travel further
  • Legerdemain - slingshot has chance to double launched projectile
  • Goliath Slayer - slingshot projectiles deal more damage to big enemies

Status Effects

  • Brimflame - fire deals additional damage. If affected entity was extinguished, this effect transforms into poison
  • Incineration - affected entity is continuously set on fire
  • Rot - slowly damages every armor and held items, doesn't affect gold items

Major Events

Pigmen Legion

With power of restored Nether Reactor, now with beacon instead of its core, you can summon army of pigmen from past. They're much more organized and armed than modern piglins, wearing netherite gear and even some pyromancies of their own invention.

To trigger this event, you must build nether reactor (from Minecraft PE) with beacon in core's place, then click on it with core shard (dropped from Wither). Event ends when over 30 pigmen are killed or when you click with core shard again.

Unburned

Flaming Grove's guardian, being of pure rage, fire and coolness. He first awakened when pigmen attacked Grove for its resources, and ironically, after slaughtering many thousands of pigmen he was defeated in that battle. With power of strongest drink found in Nether, he was placed in eternal sleep in Overworld deserts, waiting for someone to awaken him again.

To summon Unburned, you must first find fractal cucumber, rare plant growing in warped forest. Right-click with it on sand in desert to summon him. Unburned has many attacks so make sure you're prepared to face him.
