Prune Addon for FTB Chunks [Forge]

This mod provides administrators with special commands to clean game files of unclaimed chunks that haven't been claimed through the FTB Chunks system.

Main Application Possibilities

  • Updating landscape without needing a complete world reset
  • Reducing the size of backup files and save data
  • Optimizing disk space for enormous worlds
  • Removing abandoned structures on multiplayer servers

The /prune Command

This command cleans region and points of interest files in the selected dimension, removing all data that doesn't contain chunks claimed through FTB-Chunks.

Syntax: /prune [-deep <true/false>] [-filetype <region_files | poi_files>] [-dimension <dimension>] [do_not_backup <true | false>]

Command Parameters

  • deep: when set to true, the mod will check each file with claimed chunks and manually remove all adjacent unclaimed chunks (default: false)
  • file-type: file types to clean - region_files and poi_files (default: both types)
  • dimension: dimension for data processing (default: overworld)
  • do_not_backup: if set to true, cleaned files won't be saved in backup (default: false)

Warning! The do_not_backup=true parameter leads to irreversible file deletion - use with extreme caution!

Important Usage Instructions

Before executing the cleaning command, make sure that:

  • All chunks planned for deletion are unloaded from memory
  • You are not located in a chunk subject to cleaning
  • On multiplayer servers, other players are also not in chunks to be deleted
  • After command execution, be sure to restart the server

If after cleaning you see identical files in original and backup folders, this means some chunks were loaded during the process and the server saved them again. In such cases, you can forcibly shut down the server immediately after executing the cleaning command, but this may lead to loss of unsaved progress.

Deep Cleaning Already Implemented!

Now using the -deep parameter, you can remove all unclaimed chunks, including those stored in the same region files as claimed chunks!

Planned Improvements

  • Configuring paths for backup storage
  • Compressing files before creating backups
  • Automatic cleaning schedule
  • Deep cleaning function already implemented!
