Project: War Dance
Project: War Dance mod fundamentally changes Minecraft's combat mechanics, adding depth and tactics to every encounter. Instead of simple hit exchanges, you get a complex system where positioning, timing, and equipment choice matter.

Key Mechanics
Posture and Stagger System
Every creature has a posture bar that depends on its size and armor. When the bar is emptied, the enemy is stunned and becomes vulnerable to additional damage. Posture recovers quickly if you're not being attacked.
- Maximum posture is calculated as (width × height × 5)
- Attacks consume posture regardless of parrying
- Recovery slows down when moving and sprinting
- Dodging resets posture recovery delay
- At zero posture, the enemy is knocked back and gets a fracture
Parrying and Defense
Hold your weapon or shield in front of you to defend against attacks. Shields also block projectiles and provide additional posture.
- Parrying completely neutralizes damage
- Items have parry multipliers
- Tactical parry option available via key press
Combat Mode and Dual Wielding
Press Shift+R to enter combat mode, which activates special interface and advanced capabilities.
- Attack with weapons in both hands
- Relevant HUD elements are displayed
- Fists can only be used in offhand during combat mode
Dodging and Sliding
Double-tap movement keys to dodge sideways, while sprint+crouch combination performs a forward slide.
- Immunity to attacks during dodging
- Sliding shrinks character model
- Compatibility with Elenai Dodge 2
Stat Systems
Might - accumulates with attacks, spent on special abilities
Spirit - regenerates over time, used to activate skills
Rank - increases during combat, boosts attack and movement speed
Armor with Unique Properties
Different armor types affect gameplay differently:
- Light armor speeds up posture recovery
- Medium armor increases maximum posture
- Heavy armor enhances fracture resistance
Combat Skills
Available 6 color-coded skill categories with various effects:
- Red: dominance and power
- Green: resilience and defense
- Gray: stealth and deception
- Orange: fury and speed
- Cyan: perception and control
- Violet: decay and destruction
Additional Changes
- Luck affects damage dealt
- Sweeping attacks deal full damage to all targets
- Block reach increases attack distance
