Pads

The Pads modification provides an innovative fast travel system for Minecraft world, inspired by the similar mechanic from the game TUNIC.

Warning: the description may contain MINOR spoilers regarding key mechanics and story elements of TUNIC. We try not to reveal all the details of how the system works, but strongly recommend that fans of this modification also try the original game!

How It Works

The mod implements a simple and accessible teleportation system between locations.

Platform Setup: To create a travel point, place a 3×3 square of gold blocks and decorate its perimeter with any slabs or stairs. Theoretically, the system also works with blocks from other mods!

Platform Activation: Stand on the central gold block and use the Shift key. After a few seconds, you will transition to the Spirit World - a unique dimension for each player where death is impossible. If you fall off the edge of the world, you are instantly returned to the upper boundary; damage is also completely disabled. We recommend having Ender Pearls or elytra on hand - sometimes randomly generated blocks can trap your character while you cannot break or place any blocks in this dimension.

Energy Consumption: Each use of the teleporter has a 50% chance to turn one of the gold blocks into stone. The player can either restore it (boring option) or use crying obsidian - a stylish alternative! The system automatically checks for crying obsidian beneath the platform: with each teleport, there is a 5% chance of it turning into regular obsidian. If no fuel is found, the gold blocks deteriorate.

Travel Network: All activated platforms are displayed in the Spirit World, connected to each other by paths made of spirit blocks. The shape of the area around each platform corresponds to its actual surroundings, helping you navigate the purpose of travel points. Adding new network nodes may slightly shift existing paths due to connection configuration generation peculiarities.

Game Interaction: A hint for the most curious: visiting other players' Spirit Worlds is possible! We won't reveal the method... use your ingenuity and discover how to do it!

Technical Requirements

• Compatibility: Pads is an exclusive mod for Quilt! Official versions for other platforms are not planned (though unofficial ports are not forbidden).

• Dependencies: requires installed Quilted Fabric API (tested on version 5.0).

• Version: designed for Minecraft 1.19.3 and 1.19.4. Updates will be released alongside Minecraft and Quilt releases.

• Main Requirement: Pads needs you! The mod is pointless without active usage.
