OTG: Skylands
The Skylands modification is now available for version 1.16.5 and offers numerous improvements, including support for new blocks from the standard world generator and compatibility with biomes from other Forge mods!
Skylands is a world preset for Open Terrain Generator (required) that creates interconnected floating islands with dangerous void beneath them. Be careful when moving around!
The world includes sky versions of all standard overworld biomes, except for oceans and rivers (that would be illogical!). You can use it as a replacement for the regular world or as an additional dimension. Compatible with Forge and Paper.
The download includes two world generation options. The first is the standard Skylands configuration, the second is a more optimized version with less verticality for better performance.
All standard ores generate with the same frequency as in the regular world, but with an important difference - they can appear at any height.
Installation for single player (Forge) is simple: just place the jar file in the mods folder and use the OTG world creation menu to add it as the main world or a separate dimension.
For servers, several additional steps are required. Refer to the installation page where you'll find instructions for Forge and Paper servers.
Does Skylands support biomes from other mods?
Starting from version 1.16.5 - yes! Simply install any favorite overworld biome mods, and Skylands will automatically add them to biome groups and generate them in the world. It's very simple!
Can I use this preset alongside other OTG presets?
Only one preset can be used as a replacement for the main world, however using dimensions you can add as many presets as you want.
Can I use this as a dimension if my main world is not created with OTG?
You can use OTG presets as dimensions or as a replacement for the main world. It's even possible to start a game in a standard world (or with other mods) and add Skylands as a dimension through the single player world creation menu.
