Oritech mod image

Important Information ⚠️

The modification is in beta testing stage, so some issues may occur. If you find any errors, please report them on GitHub. To learn about plans for the full 1.0 release, visit the discussions on GitHub.

Detailed wiki is available through the Oracle Index mod or on the moddedmc.org website. The mod is fully compatible with JEI, REI and EMI, working best with EMI.

Main Features 🚀

Oritech is an open-source technology modification for Minecraft 1.21, offering numerous new machines and tools. Among the content you'll find:

  • Various ore processing methods
  • Automated farming installations
  • Electric tools and armor
  • Pipelines for items, fluids and energy
  • Drones for transporting items over long distances
  • Lasers for automatic block mining
  • Particle accelerators
  • New decorative content with connected textures and animated doors
  • Diverse energy generation methods - from burning fossil fuels to creating sustainable farms for biofuel
  • Extensive configuration settings and Mod Menu integration

Most machines are animated multiblock constructions, and improvements are implemented through additional blocks.

Design Features 🎯

One of the key development ideas is providing multiple ways to achieve goals. For example, plastic can be produced both from agricultural products and through oil processing. This approach is applied to most mod elements, avoiding situations where progress requires one rare and specific item.

Another important goal is creating renewable sources for most resources. This includes fuel and items that can be obtained by building large automated farms. Metals can be mined using bedrock extractor, obtaining "renewable" metals in late game stages. Naturally generated resource nodes for bedrock extractors and oil wells encourage players to build auxiliary bases and transport items to a central hub.

Technical Features ⚙️

All Oritech components are designed with simplicity and performance in mind. Pipe blocks have entities only where necessary (for example, when connecting to machines), and all networks are cached. Network updates are sent only when needed. Where possible, everything is precomputed or cached.

Pipes generally work quite fast, and for each type there is only one pipe tier.

Developer Acknowledgments 👏

The mod is heavily inspired by the original Techarium project, which unfortunately wasn't released in a playable version. Many machine names and models were taken or strongly inspired by Techarium. Huge thanks to the original Techarium developers for creating resources and ideas, as well as for their availability under CC BY-NC 4.0 DEED license.

Some block and item textures are also taken from malcolmriley's unused textures repository. Big thanks to him for their availability under CC BY 4.0 DEED license.

Among other contributors to the project: Kekie6, glisco, unilock, Geckolib developers, LyFl0w, Ycar, BBoldt, BLOKBUSTR, jshipley, CrazyMiner34, NovaKatt, Armen and Relentless.
