OfflineSkins (Fabric)
This mod solves the problem of displaying player skins on servers running in offline mode. Now you can see characters with their unique appearance even without connecting to official Minecraft servers.
Main Features
If the standard skin doesn't load, you can add your own or any other skin to a specially created folder (.minecraft/cachedImages/skins). The file should be named after the username and have the .png extension. The mod will automatically detect and apply this file to display the character.
Additional Functions
- Backup System: If necessary, the Crafatar service is used to obtain skins (this option can be disabled)
- Server Configuration: Starting from version 1.12.2-v2, it's possible to specify a custom skin server through the configuration file
- HD Support: Versions 1.12.2-v3 and above work with high-quality skins
Technical Features
The mod is client-only and doesn't require installation on the server. Originally developed before the appearance of SkinPort, it has been rewritten several times using code from this project.
The developer welcomes reports of found bugs for further improvement of the mod.
Compatibility
This is the Fabric version, which requires FabricAPI installation for proper operation.
