Offhand Hotbar - Extended Quick Access Panel

Offhand Hotbar mod transforms the third row of your inventory into a full-fledged quick access panel for your offhand, significantly enhancing item management flexibility during gameplay. Now you can hold tools and weapons in your main hand while keeping building blocks or consumables in your offhand, making construction and combat processes smoother and more efficient.

Control Configuration

By default, the mouse wheel controls item selection in the main hand, while number keys handle offhand selection, but these settings can be customized to your preferences.

Important: Rapid item switching may be detected by anti-cheat systems on public servers, so use the mod at your own risk.

The mod is currently in beta testing, so we welcome any feedback and suggestions for functionality improvements!

How It Works

Technically, the mod operates by rearranging items when selection changes. Since interface slots are server-controlled, replacing inventory slots with offhand slots in containers is challenging, so when opening any container or inventory screen, items automatically swap to maintain proper third row display. The original offhand slot becomes the "default" item equipped when opening containers.

The swap hands key (default F) continues to work for quick switching between selected items in main and offhand.

Known Issues

During improper server disconnection (such as being kicked), the selected offhand item may swap with another item.

Configuration Settings

Display Mode

Available visual layout options:

• Side by Side (default)
• Stacked
• Stacked Swapped
• Vertical
• Vertical Swapped

Scroll Control

Determines which hand is controlled by the mouse wheel (default: main hand)

Keyboard Control

Determines which hand is controlled by number keys (default: offhand)

Keybinds

In version 1.21.1, settings are in Controls > Keybinds section, while in version 1.21.5+ they're also available in the configuration screen.

Control Opposite Hotbar

Holding this key makes scrolling and keyboard controls operate the opposite hotbar. For example, if scrolling is set to main hand, holding this key while scrolling will control the offhand instead (default: Left Alt).

Scroll Inventory

Holding this key allows cycling through the three inventory rows when scrolling, changing available items in the offhand hotbar (default: R).
