Mystic Alchemy — Revolutionizing Minecraft Alchemy
Standard potion brewing in Minecraft has always felt too simplistic and limiting. Repetitive recipes, lack of creative approach, and minimal room for experimentation — all of this becomes a thing of the past with the Mystic Alchemy modification.
A New Perspective on Potion Creation
Now every ingredient possesses multiple diverse effects — both positive and negative. Your task is through trial and error to discover component properties and learn to create optimal combinations, enhancing desired attributes while minimizing unwanted side effects.

Getting Started
To master the new alchemical art, you'll need to create four key items: a special crucible for potion brewing, a spoon for mixing the composition, a testing kit to analyze current mixture properties, and vials for finished products.
Setting Up Your Workspace
Place the alchemical crucible above a heat source — lava (fastest heating), fire, or campfire (slowest heating) will work. For keeping notes and observation records, using a lectern with a journal is recommended.
The Potion Creation Process
Begin by filling the crucible with water and wait for it to boil. When steam appears, immediately stir the mixture with a spoon — otherwise the contents will burn away. After boiling, add ingredients sequentially. If a component doesn't suit the current mixture, it will be ejected back out.
Once any effect reaches magnitude 1 or higher, the liquid will gradually (over five seconds) change color, reflecting the combination of all activated effects. During this transitional period, adding new ingredients becomes impossible.
Effect Features
The action strength ratio is extremely simple: each effect is measured in magnitude, where magnitude = potion level. For example, if an ingredient provides healing 0.4 and poison 0.5, then adding two instances will create a Poison I potion (since poison reaches full strength).
The secret to mastery lies in selecting several components with required characteristics to maximize target effects without activating side ones. Maximum effect strength is limited to level 5, and up to four effects above magnitude 1 can work simultaneously in one potion (any number of incomplete effects allowed). All potion types — from splash to lingering — are supported.
Quality Control
Testing the mixture with an analysis kit provides current data about contained effects and their strength. This is a crucial tool for both beginner and experienced alchemists.
Additional Capabilities
All component recipes are stored in json configurations, allowing easy modification and expansion of the database through datapacks for individual game balancing.
