Old Mutant More

The Old Mutant More mod introduces numerous new mutated creatures into the game, inspired by the popular Mutant Creatures and Mutant Beasts mods! These powerful opponents can appear naturally or be created using special items - Formula Y and Compound Z. Each mutant poses a serious threat, but defeating them rewards you with valuable loot and unique items. The mod also adds many new advancements that can be obtained through special methods.

Warning: Some mob animations may work incorrectly due to GeckoLib issues that cannot be fixed.

Technical Requirements

• Required mod: GeckoLib
• Loader: Forge only
• Recommended version: Minecraft 1.16.5 with Forge 1.16.5-36.2.39 and GeckoLib 1.16.5:3.0.106

Important: This version of the mod is no longer updated. Development continues in the new Mutant More project.

Mutant Mobs

Mutant Husk

The mutated version of Husk - an extremely strong opponent. Chance to spawn instead of regular Husk is 1 in 100 (configurable).

Abilities:

• Ground slam: creates destructive shockwave
• Sand throw: throws sand block, dealing damage and blinding target
• Undead summon: stuns enemies and summons group of Husks
• Mob throw: throws target into air and smashes them to ground

Defeat features: Mutant resurrects three times, but can be defeated faster with fire (risking loss of loot).

Reward: Empty Cactus Jug that can be filled to gain saturation, absorption and regeneration effects.

Mutant Wither Skeleton

Melee combat specialist with 1 in 75 chance to spawn instead of regular Wither Skeleton.

Abilities:

• Brutal slash: attacks with two large blades with wither effect
• Rib crush: crushes target with rib cage
• Mutant lunge: rapidly attacks from long distance
• Flame shockwaves: creates burning shockwaves

Reward: Body parts for crafting Wither Skeleton armor (increases strength and haste) and Withered Claymore for throwing flame waves.

Mutant Blaze

Possibly the strongest mutant with 1 in 75 spawn chance.

Abilities:

• Fireball blast: launches large explosive projectile
• Rod shot: scatters rods, dealing damage and summoning Rodlings
• Flaming charge: quickly approaches target

Defeat features: After death creates tornado sucking in nearby mobs, then explodes in rain of rods.

Reward: Mutant Blaze Core for flight and mob manipulation, plus ability to tame Rodlings.

Rodling

Fiery companion that can be either enemy or pet. Tamed Rodlings follow owner and attack their enemies.

Rodling Checker:

Allows checking pet's health and fireball strength, healing with blaze powder and enhancing with fire charges.

Mutant Hoglin

Fearsome beast with 1 in 75 spawn chance.

Abilities:

• Headbutt: throws target into air
• Ground smash: creates powerful shockwave
• Hog charge: destroys everything in path

Reward: Mutant Hoglin Tusk for brewing Potion of Hog Power, granting extra health, speed and enemy repulsion.

Mutant Shulker

Unique mutant that doesn't spawn naturally.

In-shell abilities:

• Bullet shot: rapidly fires homing bullets
• Anvil crush: teleports above target and crushes them

Out-of-shell abilities:

• Brutal bite: instantly kills close opponents
• Bullet hover: hovers in air, shooting enemies

Reward: Mutant Shulker Box for capturing and transporting mobs.

Creating Mutants

Formula Y

Simple method for creating mutants. Crafted in brewing stand from bottles and obsidian. When used on mob, has chance to mutate it.

Compound Z

More effective version, created from Formula Y and mutant items. Has 50% chance for instant mutation.
