More Geodes Reforged - Additional Geodes
After the introduction of amethyst geodes in the Caves and Cliffs update, the idea of adding emerald geodes seemed like an excellent addition to me. This modification offers an alternative way to obtain emeralds through exploration rather than just trading, which is particularly useful for beginner players. Over time, the project has expanded and now includes quartz, diamond, echo geodes, and lapis lazuli geodes!
Emerald Geodes
Emerald geodes generate at high elevations throughout the Overworld, especially frequently in mountain biomes. They are encased in calcite and smooth basalt shells underground and can grow emerald crystals. Harvested crystals yield emeralds, creating an automatable alternative to endless trading.

Quartz Geodes
Quartz geodes possess unique properties. They appear exclusively in the Nether and use tuff instead of calcite. Their buds have a special oscillator function - when activated by a redstone signal, they begin to pulse, functioning as redstone clocks! The pulse frequency increases as the crystal grows.

Diamond Geodes
Diamond geodes can be considered as small treasure chests that are sometimes encountered during resource mining. They don't have budding blocks, so diamonds cannot be grown like in other geodes. They contain only one type of cluster, which yields 1 diamond when broken (quantity increases with Fortune enchantment). These geodes often generate flooded and contain deepslate coal ore instead of calcite, corresponding to real carbon deposits.

Echo Geodes
Echo geodes appear in the Deep Dark and can renewably produce echo shards. They have an outer layer of blackstone, a middle layer of sculk, and an inner layer of the new echo block! Echo blocks, budding echo blocks, and all echo crystals behave similarly to their amethyst counterparts, but with one difference - they create echo with every sound they make!

Lapis Lazuli Geodes
Lapis lazuli geodes generate abundantly in deserts and at shallow depths in the rest of the Overworld. Instead of calcite, they have a middle layer of Pyrite (known as "Fool's Gold"). Pyrite can be crafted into stairs, slabs, and walls, and can also be traded with Piglins! Small lapis buds yield a piece of pyrite when mined, making their cultivation profitable.

Gypsum Roses
Based on real desert roses, gypsum roses can be found on the surface of deserts and badlands. They grow significantly larger than other crystals. They can be harvested for gypsum shards, which can be composted or used to create sand. They can also be processed into new decorative blocks or used to craft the Crystal Locator!

Crystal Locator and Echo Locator
The crystal locator is an item that helps find geodes. When tuned to the correct crystal type, it causes nearby clusters or buds of the corresponding type to glow for about a second and make a ringing sound. Crafted from 4 gypsum shards and 2 sticks. The locator can be tuned to amethyst, emerald, quartz, lapis lazuli, diamond, and echo geodes. There is also integration with the geodes of the Spectrum mod.
The echo locator is a more advanced version of the crystal locator. It is better tuned to ore frequencies and can help find elusive ores hidden right behind cave or mineshaft walls.
Additional Data Packs
Two additional data packs can be installed with this modification. These additions can be downloaded from the Releases tab of the project's GitHub.
Disable Emerald and Quartz Ore Generation
This data pack disables the generation of emerald and quartz ore, making geodes the only way to obtain the corresponding resources (through mining).
Silk Touch Mining of Budding Blocks
Allows mining budding amethyst, echo, emerald, and quartz blocks themselves when using the Silk Touch enchantment!
Configuration and Additional Information
