Mindful Eating - Fabric
This is an adapted version of the Mindful Eating mod for the Fabric platform, representing an updated port of the original development.
Mindful Eating offers an innovative approach to the nutrition system in Minecraft, encouraging dietary diversity without compromising gameplay. The mod achieves this goal through several key mechanisms.
Using the Diet mod's API, the system identifies the food group of the last consumed item and reduces exhaustion (saturation/hunger loss) by 75% when performing activities related to that group. This means that when performing corresponding activities (running, resource gathering, health regeneration, etc.), the same amount of food will be consumed 4 times slower.
Settings allow reverting to Diet's standard mechanics or changing the percentage of exhaustion reduction. Connections between food groups and exhaustion sources can also be configured, although the following correspondences are set by default:
- Fruits - swimming
- Vegetables - sprinting and jumping
- Grains - mining
- Proteins - fighting
- Sugars - health regeneration and hunger effect
Visual indication of the system is implemented through changes to hunger bar icons, which now display the group of the last consumed food item. When performing an activity with reduced exhaustion, a bouncing animation passes along the hunger bar icons. The system is fully compatible with visual hunger bar changes from the Appleskin mod.
