Mindful Eating - Conscious Nutrition in Minecraft
This mod promotes dietary diversity while making gameplay more thoughtful and strategic.
Core Mechanics
Using the Diet mod's API, the system identifies the food group of your last consumed meal. If you engage in an activity related to that food group, saturation consumption is reduced by an impressive 75%! This means the same amount of food will sustain you 4 times longer during corresponding activities.
Default food group and activity connections:
- Fruits - swimming
- Vegetables - sprinting and jumping
- Grains - resource mining
- Proteins - combat with enemies
- Sweets - health recovery and hunger effect
These settings can be modified through mod configuration.
Visual Indicators
The hunger bar icons now display the group of the last food consumed. When you perform an activity with reduced saturation consumption, a matte sheen appears on the icons. This system works perfectly with Appleskin's visual enhancements.
Food Rebalancing
Various foods have been balanced to give each a unique role:
-
Melon slices, sweet berries, cooked mutton, cooked rabbit, cooked salmon, cooked cod, beetroot, and beetroot soup now consume as quickly as dried kelp.
-
All soups and stews stack up to 16, and cakes stack to 64, as in Bedrock Edition.
-
Saturation from cooked mutton and cooked salmon reduced from 0.8 to 0.2, cooked rabbit and cooked cod - from 0.6 to 0.1.
Using datapacks, you can customize any foods' characteristics: hunger level, saturation, stack size, eating speed, and ability to eat when full.
Compatibility
Requires the latest version of Abnormals Core/Blueprint and Diet.
Works with Minecraft versions 1.16.4 and above.
