Milky Way - Realistic Milking Mod for Minecraft

This mod introduces a significant gameplay change - obtaining resources from animals now requires patience. Instead of infinite and instant milking of cows and mooshrooms, each individual has its own recovery period. By default, a cow can be milked with a bucket approximately twice a day, but all time intervals are customizable to your preferences.

The main goal of the mod is not just to add difficulty, but to encourage players to create more thoughtful farms and use alternative ways to obtain dairy products. Perhaps it's time to reconsider the organization of your cow pen?

Alternative Milk Sources

If standard milking has become too slow, consider these interesting alternatives:

• Neapolitan - allows creating automated milk collection systems through dripstone, where cows are placed above stalactites. The process is slow but completely automatic.
• Simple Soy - offers a vegan alternative in the form of soy milk, which is produced from a special agricultural crop.

Settings and Configuration

The mod provides a flexible configuration system. Animals that are not yet ready for milking display special particles - a visual indicator for impatient players. This feature can be disabled by setting the angryParticle parameter to false.

Four main timers are available in the configuration:

• bucketTimer - recovery time for standard bucket milking
• worseBucketTimer - for alternative milk options
• bowlTimer - for collecting mushroom stew
• bottleTimer - for bottle milking

Entity Tag System

The mod uses four tag categories for classifying milkable mobs:

• milky_way:bucket_milkable - standard animals (cows)
• milky_way:worse_bucket_milkable - individuals with alternative products (mooshrooms)
• milky_way:bowl_milkable - for collection in bowls
• milky_way:bottle_milkable - for bottle milking

Important: Simultaneously adding a mob to both bucket_milkable and worse_bucket_milkable categories may lead to unpredictable consequences! However, intersections of other categories (for example, bucket and bottle) work correctly.

Compatibility with Other Mods

The mod automatically integrates with Cobblemon, classifying milkable Pokémon (mainly Miltank) into the standard category. Alternative buckets from other modifications are also supported through the milky_way:buckets tag.
