Maxed Villager & Loot Enchants - Trading and Loot Modification
Do you remember those endless hours spent rearranging the lectern to get Efficiency V enchantment from a village librarian? This monotonous and completely uninteresting mechanic made me think about how little it contributes to the enjoyment of the game. Instead of enjoying adventures, players are forced to perform boring repetitive actions.
That's why I created this mod that fundamentally changes the system of trading enchanted books. Now all librarians offer enchantments at the maximum available level from the very beginning, saving you from the need for endless rearrangements.
Flexible Enchantment Settings
Starting from version 1.2, the mod offers three different operating modes that can be configured through the configuration file:
• Default mode - always provides the maximum enchantment level • Minimum mode - offers only the lowest level • Maximum exclusion mode - allows obtaining any level except the highest one (if the maximum level is 1, this rule does not apply)
Additional Trading Options
The mod also includes four additional options for trading with villagers, which are disabled by default but can be activated in the settings:
- All enchantments available - allows trading absolutely all enchantments, including those normally unavailable (such as Soul Speed)
- Cursed books - all sold books receive a random curse, unless they are already cursed
- Treasure discount - removes the double cost for treasure enchantments added in recent game versions
- No treasures - completely excludes treasure enchantments from the list of possible offers
Loot Control from Chests
In version 1.4 for Minecraft 1.20.1, a new feature was added - control over enchanted items and books found in generated chests. This option is disabled by default but allows applying all the same settings (minimum level, maximum level, maximum exclusion) to items from chests, as well as adding curses to all found items.
This is a Forge mod that doesn't make the game significantly easier, but rather removes boring and repetitive elements from it, allowing you to focus on the truly interesting aspects of Minecraft.
