Marksman

This mod introduces the famous coin shot mechanics from ULTRAKILL into Minecraft. To perform this trick, simply toss a coin (emerald or nugget) into the air and shoot a projectile at it - crossbows work particularly well. The impact will cause the projectile to ricochet off the coin and strike the nearest target with enhanced velocity and damage.

Coins can be used to create chain shots.

How It Works

A coin can only be shot while it's airborne and hasn't been used for a ricochet before - picking up and dropping the item resets this limitation.

The target selection priority works as follows:

• Other coins within 16 blocks
• Current target for mobs
• Last attacked entity
• Entity that last attacked you
• Closest entity within 64 blocks

The game selects the first suitable entity that has a clear line of sight from the coin.

Only projectiles that inherit from PersistentProjectileEntity receive additional damage, such as arrows and tridents.

You can add any other items to the coin list by including them in the #marksman:coin tag.

Due to Minecraft's physics engine, ricochets cannot be 100% accurate and may occasionally miss.

In PvP, you can shoot your opponent's coins if you're fast enough. Counter-attacks are theoretically possible (tossing coins in front of enemy projectiles), but the game's randomness makes this extremely difficult to execute in practice.

Compatibility

The mod can be installed server-side only, though some visual glitches may occur for clients.

Any modded projectiles that support deflection mechanics should work properly with Marksman.
