Malus Phaethusa

The Malus Phaethusa mod (pronounced "Mah-lus Fai-too-sa") is the second project from the developer known for the DimensionalOres modification. This project brings back popular creatures from Minecraft version 1.7.10 - the Apple Cows, redesigned and enhanced with new features.

Types of Cows

Regular Apple Cow

Spawning locations: Regular biomes where cows spawn, but with lower probability

Loot (without Looting): Standard cow drops + 1-2 apples

Loot (with Looting): Standard cow drops considering enchantment level + 0-1 additional apple per level of Looting

Breeding: Wheat

Attraction: Wheat

Milking product: Regular milk bucket

Golden Apple Cow

Spawning locations: Same biomes as regular cows, but significantly rarer

Loot (without Looting): Standard cow drops + 1-2 golden apples

Loot (with Looting): Standard cow drops plus 0-1 golden apple per level of Looting

Breeding: Golden wheat

Attraction: Golden wheat

Milking product: Golden milk bucket

Enchanted Golden Apple Cow

Spawning locations: Mushroom biomes

Loot (without Looting): Standard cow drops + 1-2 enchanted golden apples

Loot (with Looting): Standard cow drops plus 0-1 enchanted golden apple per level of Looting

Breeding: Enchanted golden wheat

Attraction: Enchanted golden wheat

Milking product: Enchanted golden milk bucket

Crafting Recipes

Golden wheat: Crafted from 1 regular wheat, 4 gold ingots, and 4 gold nuggets. Used for making golden bread and breeding Golden Apple Cows.

Enchanted golden wheat: Crafted from 1 golden wheat, 4 gold ingots, and 4 gold nuggets. Used for making enchanted golden bread and breeding Enchanted Golden Apple Cows.

Additional Items

Golden bread: Crafted like regular bread but using 3 golden wheat. Can be traded with Piglins. When consumed, acts as an improved version of golden apple.

Enchanted golden bread: Crafted from 3 enchanted golden wheat. Can also be traded with Piglins. When consumed, acts as an improved version of enchanted golden apple.

Golden milk bucket: Obtained by milking a Golden Apple Cow. When drunk, removes all potion effects and temporarily grants a small Absorption effect.

Enchanted golden milk bucket: Obtained by milking an Enchanted Golden Apple Cow. When drunk, removes all potion effects and temporarily grants Absorption and Regeneration effects.
